Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Testing & Certifications or National Welder Practical Assessment (Red Seal)

Program/course schedule subject to change based on enrolment

Welders will register and attempt their Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification. Test participants can test per position or all positions and multiple processes. Positions include flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead. Welding tickets are valid for two years, and before the expiration date, participants must complete a check test.

Schedule

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Welding in the morning with the inspector present. 
  • The welds are tested in the early afternoon. 
  • The inspector will evaluate and note with the college who has been successful. 

Requirements

Participants will be responsible for providing their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots, welding helmet, safety glasses, welding coat and gloves, and tools, including a grinder, chipping hammer and wire brush. 


Tuition

Students must fill out a registration, waiver & release and CWB testing form based on their testing needs; fees will be associated. The cost is $180 per test. Payment of course fees is required within 72 hours before the course start date.

National Welder Practical Assessment (Red Seal)

Welders will register and attempt their ‘Blue Book’ tests to obtain Red Seal certification.  Tests are NWPE 1 – NWPE 6 

Testing dates are to be determined and coordinated throughout the registration process.

Requirements

Participants must have obtained their blue book from Apprenticeship.

Participants will also be responsible for providing their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots, welding helmet, safety gloves, welding coat and gloves, and tools, including a grinder, chipping hammer and wire brush.

Tuition

Participants must fill out a registration, waiver & release and Welding test application form based on their testing needs; fees will be associated. The cost is $150 per test up to a maximum of $500. Payment of course fees is required within 72 hours before the course start date.
