FREDERICTON – 王中王六合彩特码 OASIS, a community mentorship and support program for entrepreneurs, was recognized as a regional finalist for the Start-up Canada Entrepreneur Support Award, on Thursday evening, at the StartUp Canada Atlantic awards, in Fredericton.
The Entrepreneur Support Award is given to any organization that demonstrates excellence in advancing Canadian. The recipient of the award was the Nova Scotia based, Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre.
“We want to congratulate the entire team at the Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre, they have worked so hard over the years to support small business across Nova Scotia,” said Clarissa Harris-LeBreton, Entrepreneurship Coordinator at 王中王六合彩特码. “It was an honour to be recognized in the same category as such an outstanding organization.”
Started in 2014, 王中王六合彩特码 OASIS connects small business owners with mentors who can help them address their specific needs or challenges. The program also runs networking and business development events throughout the province.
OASIS first launched in Miramichi, with considerable support from the city and wider community. After this successful launch, the OASIS was expanded to Moncton and Saint John and will begin in Fredericton this fall, where they are still accepting more business leaders as mentors.
Since its inception OASIS has supported more than 40 entrepreneurs through targeted mentorship connections and hosted more than 25 networking and development sessions throughout New Brunswick.
Harris-Lebreton said OASIS participants have reported positive changes in all aspects of their personal and business development. Nearly all OASIS mentees say their confidence as business owners and leaders has increased, while more than half of mentees saw their business revenues increase after participating in the program. She attributed this success to OASIS’ community-based model.
“We recognize that entrepreneurs are often busy running their businesses. By connecting them with mentors and resources in their own communities, it gives them an opportunity to find the support they need and helps them expand their network in their own backyard.”
Startup Canada is the national voice of social entrepreneurs. Through training, resources, and peer networks they are working to support entrepreneurship culture and give every entrepreneur equal opportunity for success.
